Life Changing

Seeing Steve has genuinely been life-changing for me and is by far the best money I’ve ever spent. My only regret is not having started this in my 20s, but the next best thing is starting now, and I’m so grateful I found him.

Even after a relatively short time, I’m amazed by the results. Before working with Steve, I struggled with back pain and sciatica and even simple tasks like carrying groceries would leave me sore the next day. Now, I can carry much heavier loads over longer distances with no discomfort. I haven’t had a single episode of sciatica since seeing Steve and the only time I felt lower back pain was when he was on vacation, and I skipped my Romanian deadlifts.

I’ve always found it hard to motivate myself, but having regular sessions with Steve keeps me accountable. It helps that I genuinely enjoy his company and chats, so our sessions are as good for my mind as they are for my body. Steve is insightful, encouraging, and wise, and I always leave feeling better.

I absolutely love my sessions with Steve and, for the first time in my life, I actually enjoy exercising.

Training With Steven Sandlan

I have been training with Steven for almost a year now. Steven is extremely professional and will work with you to ensure that you get the very best out of the sessions with him.

I finally decided that I had to 100% commit to going to the gym as I wanted to feel better on myself. I also want to start a family in the near future and I want to make sure that I am in good health so I can look after my family and have fun with them. After I searched for a while I found Steven.

Steven understands what I want to accomplish and was more than happy to take me on as a client. Steven is always up for a chat during the session and it's been nice to get to know him as a person and a trainer. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking to get fitter. It doesn't matter if you are starting from scratch, been going for a while and needing a helping hand or if you are wanting that extra help to train for a goal. Steven will tackle anything and make sure that you have the best experience.

Appreciate it Martin!

I have trained with Steve since September / October 2024 after my last PT of 4/5 years moved to a council gym as full time PT and had to give up his clients.

For me even though I had been using a PT previously it was only at the beginning of 2024 that I was motivated and focussed enough to put all aspects of training in place, so alongside the workouts I also changed my habits on food. Food it turns out is the most important and these habits have now been built and the training Steve gives me compliments and supports my goals as I work through my deficit or growth phases. Steve is relaxed but focussed and the training we do is hard but is fun and that makes you want to continue and work hard to achieve your goals. The chats during the sessions are great and the time flies by. The sessions are constantly changing every 6 weeks or so and as Steve says 'Consistency is key'. I train 3 times a week with Steve and love it, the gym itself is fresh and open and not like a stereotypical gym. If you need and want a PT - Steve is your man.

Lovely words Mark!

I started training with Steve a year and a half ago without knowing what I want to achieve. He has guided me throughout this time and tailored a programme that allows me to explore different things. He has been encouraging all the time and always check what I want to do next, which in a way has helped me figure out what I want to achieve in terms of fitness.

Cheers Derrick!

After I got married a couple of years ago and went on my honeymoon, I really didn’t like what I saw in the photos. I was the heaviest I’d ever been, and it gave me a bit of a wake up call. I knew I wanted to make a change, so I went on Bark, and that’s when Steven reached out.

We’ve been working together for a year now, and honestly, it’s made such a difference. Not just physically, but in how I feel about myself. I’ve gained a level of confidence in the gym that I never had before, and I actually look forward to my workouts now. Steven’s support has helped me realise that the small wins along the way matter just as much as the big ones. They build momentum and keep you going. Steven has a really calming presence, but he also knows exactly when to push and encourage you. That balance has helped me feel supported without ever feeling overwhelmed.

Thanks Graeme!

As a historically non-sporty 31 year old woman who loves food, I never really believed “training” or “the gym” was for me. Steve has made the whole idea much more accessible and less intimidating for me. Training with him once a week for a year has given me a new sense of how I can move my body and as someone who had really only ever done running and the odd fitness class before, I can now see and feel a difference in my fitness and confidence. Steve is a calm, knowledgeable PT who meets you where you’re at with what time you have in your life and works with it. He’s also great fun and chat and - crucially - not an obnoxious gym bro!

Thanks lilith!

I’ve been going to Steve twice a week for a long time now, as he says himself, consistency is key! When I started I had gone through various phases of exercise but was very stop start and hadn’t really stuck at anything for any length or not long enough to see results or make actual progress. I always suffered from a sore back and poor posture until I started training with Steve. I now never have a sore back and in fact would describe myself as having a strong back, who knew that was a thing! Steve plans the sessions around my needs, often that’s linked to mobility movements, I’m not 80 but I do still have poor postural habits. I am most proud of the fact that I can now do chin-ups and deadlifts, both things that I would never have felt confident enough to even try if I hadn’t started training with Steve. Definitely give PT sessions with Steve a go if you want to see actual improvements from time spent exercising, he would call this training. 🙂

Thanks so much Emma!

One of the best decisions you’ll ever make

I trained with Steve for about a year. Steve also trained my sister. It was the first time both of us really got to understand fitness and health, due to Steve’s wisdom and encouragement. I loved every bit of the training and education. I was strong and healthy. Steve is a professional and full of knowledge that inspired me. We had great chats at every session. If I am ever back living in Glasgow, I’ll be signing back up to Steve quicker than you can say Irn Bru! You will not regret training with Steve!!!

Aww that's so lovely, miss you guys!

I’ve been training with Steve for just over a year now, throughout that time we’ve made good progress and achieved all the goals i’ve set. Steve’s a very approachable guy and his sessions are always something to look forward to. When my requirements change due to less free time or new fitness goals Steve always has an updated plan that’s fresh and interesting to suit.

Thanks Olly!

Keeping it real

At the grand old age of 61 I decided to run a half marathon. A flat one, granted, but still 13.1 miles. I knew that running alone would not cut it, I needed my whole body to be stronger. Cue Steve Sandlan who created a programme to support this, mixing up strength training in the gym and at home, with running greater distances. What I like about Steve is the mix of awesome knowledge about human anatomy and physiology combined with an understanding that life happens and training schedules can be adapted without drama. I would 100 per cent recommend him to anyone who is a bit unsure of taking that PT step. He made a huge difference to my fitness. PS: I ran the half marathon!

Thanks so much Clare!
